Mountain argus - Aricia artaxerxes

Altitude: 1400-2200m (0-350m in UK)

Pictured above puddling with many Chalk-hill blues is a Mountain argus of form allous, which is similar to the Brown argus Aricia agestis. The upperside has less orange lunules, and the wing shape differs slightly.
