Moroccan meadow brown - Hyponephele maroccana
![]() |
Family: Satyridae. Flight Time: June - August. Altitude: 1700-2800m
|
| Notes: The most remarkable feature of this Meadow brown is the fact that it sits as pictured above most of the time, which is not like the usual Meadow brown found in the rest of Europe. Also they have two eyespots of the underside forewing (like a Grayling). The rather limited range helps identification, Hyponephele lupina is the most similar species with overlapping range, no picture.
