Giant grayling - Berberia abdelkader
|
Family: Satyridae. Flight Time: June - November. Size: Large Altitude: 200-2300m |
| Notes: There are two species of the genus Berberia resident in Morocco, I only saw this one although they do fly together in some places. It was fast flying over very tiring slopes, at high altitude and at a temperature of 48 șC! This was the best I got, a really impressive species, Giant grayling being I think a little bland for its title. 'The Berber' would perhaps be better after the incredibly friendly and helpful local people. |
