Oriental meadow brown - Hyponephele lupina

Family: Satyridae

Flight Time: May-August

Size: mm

Altitude: 0-2000m

The scalloped edge to the hindwing and the large eyespots help separate this species from the similar Dusky meadow brown, Hyponephele lycaon. The best feature however is on the upperside of the male, which has no veins crossing the dark patch in lupina.
