Morocco orange tip - Anthocharis belia

Male upperside

Family: Pieridae.

Flight Time: March - June.

Size: 36-40mm

Altitude: 0-1800m

Male underside.

A fairly widespread species in Spain in the Spring. Similar to the Orange tip, Anthocharis cardamines, but with a yellow ground colour. Quite a difficult one to photograph as they don't settle that often and when they do it tends to be on tall flimsy flowers which sway in the breeze.

Female Upperside.
