Mountain clouded yellow - Colias phicomone

Underside.

Family: Pieridae

Flight Time: June - August

Size: 40 -50mm

Altitude: 900-2500m

The picture above was taken above Eison in the Val d'Herens, Switzerland where they were reasonably common at higher altitudes. Like most Clouded yellow species they were not keen to settle for long. I think I got one attempt at a photo per day, only one came out reasonably well!
